So, now that a month passed i have a small encampment claimed and a farm running. I can have resources to craft any type of food, but noone of my villagers wants to eat anything, except something that gives the least hunger for the most feps, even if that means logging in on a timer for satiations to reset. After some talk with my villagemates i've decided to propose our thoughts to the general public.
Hunger level
Hunger level is a pretty decent timegating system, the bad thing about it is that people consider eating on anything except 300% hunger modifier to be a waste and they are absolutely right. If the overall game's development route is to force people to eat while being anything but 300%, why not introduce energy drain dependancies on hunger level, how about draining 2x energy for 300% hunger level, 1.5 for the 150% and so on. First time we noticed that being overstuffed lowered energy consumption we all praised jorb for thinking ahead, but since that was apparently a "bug" , "fixing" it brought great sadness and frustration. I think it should also have a positive effect and lower your energy drain if youre overstuffed.
Satiations: While i enjoy the fact that we have the way to play the satiations minigame, jorbs attempts to force a different diet are just not fun, they are too random, they favour logging in on a bot to check satiations and im really worried about the forum dwellers being silent on that. My villagers just dont want to craft food, they favour questing (which is broken, idk where you looking at) over actually playing in a village, on a premise that they just dont care enough about the satiation timegate on top of the hunger level timegate.
So what i suggest is to add a hidden positive addition to satiations, i will call it cravings. Each satiation tick will also make you crave something else, reducing its satiation. Ex: i eat a pie, i get a 40% bread satiation, and also i get a 35% fish craving, buffing its satiation by the 35%, but not over 100%. Then i get a fish satiation, whille increases my craving for berries, im sure you can make more sense out of it. Notice how the craving is always less than the actual satiation to avoid endless eating.
As for the drinks, return them overbuffing the foods, i dont see any reasons to use them now
pros: more involvement in playing the satiation game
cons: more stats? (idk how thats a bad thing, the more dedicated guys that prepare more variety food deserve the fun they get from raising stats, dontcha think)
FEPS and feasting
I know the game tries to be realistic and all that, but so many foods are unused because of their arbitrary and undeserved high "hunger % increased" stat.
Why not base the hunger % on the base FEP's of the food. This could intertwine with the feasting system, which in turn would reducing the hunger modifier of food with the stats of the partygoers (ofc as an asymptote to a certain desired hardcap), while the symbel and food quality increases feps.
