Farmer Credo too long?

Postby vidgin » Tue Mar 12, 2019 11:00 am

Hello, is it normal that I am doing Farmer Credo for already 1,5x months because of million quests "harvest 100?120?60 trellis? some seeds?". Ok, that's good. Let's look at my neighbours who goes to Nomad or Miner. They all have done already 3-4 credos completely! I am still doing the second (forager -> Farmer). Where is the balance here? 3-4 credos against 1 completed credo and unlimited farmer quests...
Just look at the type of quests: You need to put an arrow to some animal in Hunter Credo. You need to dig some stone. All you need is to find it. It is difficult to find, but still the action takes one moment to complete the quest.
And now the Farmer quest....
Harvest 60 peas. Seriously? They grow on trellis and after harvesting they need to be planted again from the Stage 1! Or harvest 120 pepper. Seriously? The max fast quest is to harvest some flax or barley, but you need to wait till it grows for 1-2 days. Some quests like harvest 90 millets will take potentially months to complete!

And you can say, that Miner Credo can send you to level 4 of cave. It will take months to complete too from the world begining. But there is BIG difference. You can deny "level 4" quest and get another quest "dig heavy earth". But in Farmer quest, if you will deny quest that need month to complete, you will get for 90% quest that need 2-7 days to complete. Because you always have to wait for crops getting grow.

So most of my neighbours have completed 3-4 credos. I am playing from the world's start and haven't completed Farmer Credo yet. This my the second credo and I still can't complete it.

Is there way to balance them? Maybe not 4 credos agains 1. But 2 against 1? Maybe there should be more farmer quests like "eat crop", or bring to Questgiver some seeds? Something that needs actions not waiting. I know that other credos have quests like teach curiousity for 30-60 hours. But they have a bit of them. The farmer credo only consist of such things!

Why credos should be easy?

So you want to complete credo in several days and dont call it easy? Dont start gardener then.

I want to proceed Farmer credo not TOO MUCH LONGER than other credos. I don't want just make it easer. I need some balance between credos. Not when one completes Quarryman credo in 2 weeks, and another one completes Farmer credo in 2 months. Both wasting the same time in the game.

Doesn't mean farmer is intrinsically slower than nomad. It's just you who are slower than your neighbors. I know people who completed farmer quite some time ago. If I'd followed all the taming quests for nomad without abandoning them I'd be still on 3rd quest probably (and nomad requires just 3 entry-level credos as prerequisite).

Not saying that farmer credo is perfect and would not benefit from less "plant/harvest gazillion of useless crap" quests (there should not be 3-digits numbers in those quests IMO), but I would not say it's the slowest out there. At least you aren't sent to cave lvl 5 as quarryman did before the last patch.

I somewhat agree that credos should be balanced.
Currently they take varying amounts of work. Some take WAY more work than others.
Especially farmer credo is one that takes a shit-ton of work, as there are often time-gated quests, like "harvest 50 grapes!", while other credos may have way easier quests. Like, kill a fox.

I did 3.5levels of farmer credo in 1 afternoon, it's not too hard tbh.
