Disable quick inter-continental travel

Water vortexes allow us to easily go between continents.
We were promised oceans that would require ships and some effort to cross.
But currently that is not the case.
Water vortexes should only teleport you within the continent.

I have actually managed to across the ocean from south continent to the west continent with only 2 DUGOUTS :lol:
Fully tested as a new player but I don't know about other continents.

Oceans do impact gameplay.

They cause scaling expense on collecting some resources through time hunting whirlpools. They put hard limits on kingdom borders which has emboldened raiders since retaliation is much harder and needing knarrs around anyway + vast ocean makes catching them difficult. Whirlpools are notably dangerous due to being landed beside strangers somewhat frequently.

Overall I've found this world to be significantly more violent than recent ones, and I think oceans are why. I'm not sure how I feel about limiting long distance trade to only well established villages able to afford the effort to make knarrs. Trying to relocate from one continent to another becomes currently impossible without a knarr as well.

I dunno man, I'm iffy on the topic. WPs definitely feel like they break the spirit of oceans, but at the same time the concept of oceans causes a lot of issues with Knarrs as the only crossing option.

Or make it so vortices can occur in the middle of the ocean, so you'll need to enter in a knarr if you want to be truly safe (risking popping up in the middle of deepest and drowning anyways)

No need for this limitation. Vortexes change their destination so one week You can go out and scavenge nice stuff, other day You might land in harsh place. It's okay as it is.

I think epic journeys are fun id agure get rid of fast travel roads cause where is the true adventure but I u8nderstand it gets lonely but to fast travel across an ocean I yell nay from my roof, gather your crew and man the sails we are going on a fucking journey brothers, bring back the adventure and get rid of inter continental travel lol
