Lower the forageable scores of "noob forageables"

Postby Sevenless » Fri Mar 15, 2019 9:26 am

There's a number of newbie herbs out there that can be fully seen with 40 exp*per. Blueberries, nettles, taproot to name a few. It seems like a small thing, but without knowing to raise exp to 4, the world seems very barren for beginners. With it your minimap at least has a bit of character to it. I actually get 4 exp even on my suicide alts just so the world seems a bit less empty.

It seems to me like this should be something everyone gets so beginners can't make a simple mistake that makes the game empty and boring for them in their earliest moments. All of these forageables fully seen with 40 score should be fully seen with 10 score I feel.

I mean... taproots and blueberries are exactly what you're describing aren't they?

its more than a month into the game and i am still using taproots as my main feather trinket source cause found a nice q60+ spot. How about making something like a primitive string which would be a taproot that can only be used for very very basic recipes and add few things which would be literally noob only instead.

This is the primitive string, along with cattail fibers. What else could possibly be used? That it's a month and a half in and you're farmed string is probably just now caught up to that q60 means you got lucky or that you've got too much else to spend those plant fibers on (like more cloth). Most people get stuck at 30 or 40 when it comes to foraged strings, some get lucky and have 50 or 60 nearby.

Blueberries, spindly taproot, and dandelions can all be seen with 1 exploration

You see ~1/4 of them at 1 exp if I'm not mistaken.

Something like that. If you get a -PER injury before you get skills up much, you can completely lose the ability to see anything.

You usually have to put a couple points into exploration to see any at all, but once you get a few in, you see pretty much all of them.

Changing the low end of visibility to make sure some can always be found would be a good thing.

But isn't it like basic rule, to rise your exploration? Rising it just to 5 isn't that hard even for a new person. :P
