I think there are few issues with these quest rewards, which make them extremely bad.
- Even if a given area is very active, and there's a lot of people doing these quests, the difference in quality is negligible.
- The difference is negligible because it buffs the quality of some random plant or animal. Rustroot, badger, bat, rats. Unlikely to see any difference because the reward boosts random stuff.
- It's always +1. Always.
Proposed changes:
- It should boost the highest animal or plant node around (or, alternatively, a specific one for a given quest giver, because the animals have pretty high base qualities, and almost always they'd be chosen). For example, if there is a high quality swan node in a given area, questing will increase it even more. This way, over time, the world would get some unique areas with high quality plants or animals, that aren't so obvious to the random passerby, but may be a source of interesting trade goods for the local population. Rustroot won't make you rich, but high quality mussels or swans...
- The reward should scale, just like the LP and exp rewards. Not too much, but +1 all the time makes me sad.
