it never existed. Maybe you're thinking of the old legacy "pacho" client which had an IRC connection built in and provided access the #haven on synrirc.net.

There actually was a world chat at one point im fairly sure. I think it got removed world 5 or 6 and custom client makers replaced it.

there was definitely a global world chat and it was in w4 iirc that one client added a way to access it, as it existed before only thru some obscure keybinding, and then it became a cesspool and was removed. after that came the irc link.

The only thing I recall is the IRC client back in w3/4. maybe I'm wrong. That was... 9 years ago?
