Some things decay too fast (items)

I was butchering some animals and dropping the meat temporarily in ground so I could pick it up later with tsacks on both hands for maximum efficiency.
BUT, the items started disappearing! Even though it had been only few minutes!
Disappearing time for items should be increased to like few hours for all items.

What even is the current logic of when an item decays? I would be curious to know.

im guessing to not lag up the server? people hunt and butcher animals every min imagine guts staying for an hour there would be 1000s of them.
see homo sexuality trending,. do not do that.

I suspect it is based on some system like two hour parking. Each interval, it will increase count for all items in region. If item's count reaches its durability, then this item will disappear. Then minimum time item will be on floor is intervalTime * (itemDurability - 1). If item durability is 1, then it maybe will despawn right as soon as you drop it if you are unlucky. This kind of system seem to explain how system is behaving now anyway.

Strawdolls disappear rather fast. Intestines, entrails, and meat disappearing as fast as they do makes sense considering how often they just get tossed on the ground because they're garbage.

Maybe they shouldn't decay as fast on claimed areas?

Why would items on ground lag the server so much that they must be deleted every minute?
I dont see why they would lag the server at all.

Probably the same reason why you could crash the server in legacy with scents.

meat will rot if left too long on the floor, too much bacteria

say thanks we do not have wound from eating dirty meat from the floor
