Cold Cellar / Spiders

So snow melts from what I hear, and where I live its a pain in the ass to walk to the mountain it will take a few hours or so. A lot of work for something that can melt. Didn't people have root/cold cellars where they would dig a hole in the ground and store stuff from going bad?


Also- I know there is an itsy bitsy spiders, but spiders that you can fight would be cool too. That would give a lot of variety since there are so many. Grass spiders (woodlands). House spiders (can spawn in the house like rats in the cellar) etc..
