Shift click again doing mess

Postby buzzardpl » Sat Apr 06, 2019 2:29 pm

I use shift click many times, but it is dangerous...

Eg. When I am filling the Steel crucible with fuel, shift clik click click... omg one click too much!! I put out all wrought iron from it because my inventory has no more fuel... Process of steel making is reset to 0% :(

Disable it please - the working stuff from emptying. Or give the few seconds delay to put the iron again and not lose the time.
.Using Amber.

This is a suggestion for the Amber Client thread then.

Consistensy beats usability - devs probably

or learn how to manage your input better. I put extra fuel in my inventory so that when the steel crucible is full, I have a piece of fuel on hand instead of pulling what's in the container out.

Doesn't yours (and a couple others) already have a means of doing this? (I don't think we're going to cause you woe you for plugging your own client if you can do a feature a player is asking for.)

I don't plug my own client, ever, my client has it because it's a feature that default should have. Suggesting to this one person to just use mine does solve his issue, but it doesn't solve this being a bigger problem as a whole.

I'll try to remember that. I think it speaks for itself in features.

it's not really a "client" thing, though; it's server-side, yes? Don't you block or otherwise manipulate the input to prevent it from going to the server after the crucible is full?

I'd think this should be an easy change. I don't know why it hasn't been done yet. This is the nth request for it, at least as far as the steel crucibles. Until it is changed, we should at least make sure players know the workarounds, either as I suggested with the fuel, wheelbarrow as another suggested, or using a client that prevents it.

Yes, but rather than just disable the server side functionality for fringe cases like this, it'd be ideal if the user was just given the option of what types of containers they'd like to disable it for. But I suppose if we could only convince Loftar to make the change for 1 thing, steel crucibles should be that one thing.

I like it for cleaning out chests, smelters, kilns, and most other purposes.

Maybe the modifier key should change, but I'm not sure to what. There's a lot of functionality on doing shift-clicks and ctrl-clicks that aren't necessarily identical.

Like aceb said, wheelbarrows perfectly address this issue. If you're doing steel you can afford a wheelbarrow.
