Hay collector 101

It would be nice if right click on stockkpillable object on the ground while pulling a wheelbarrow would place said object directly into wheelbarrow, don't you agree?

It does, in case the wheelbarrow is empty.

There is currently only one way to use a wheelbarrow so if that's what he meant I’m not sure how that would be faster than right clicking all the items to pick up to inventory and putting them to a stack and then using the wheelbarrow.

There is a simple example: i have 2 fields of wheat each 250 tiles in size. And when i finish reaping this wheat i have 500 hay pieces lying on the ground. And how many slots i have in my inventory? 24. i could run to the side and pile hay there 20 times or make 20 small piles and then merge these in 2 using a wheelbarrow but i'd prefer to shift+click once and end up with wheelbarrow full of hay.

But wheelbarrow moves slowly being pushed by player compared to picking up through only the player movement. I’m not sure it would be much faster than the alternative but I don’t see any reason for that not to be added anyways if it will help you.

Imagine if you could right/click Wheelbarrow to set it on mode where it picks up any stockpilable items it runs over, as long as the wheelbarrow is empty or has item of same stockpile type and is not full.

it should work just like shift functionality for picking up multiple same type items

On the other hand we have access to various inventory expanders that allow a character to carry more items than most stockpiles (sans soil, sand, ...) can hold.
