Slime Spawn Event

When mining a pointless thought occurred. Something feels odd about slime coming out of stone.

suggestion: instead of coming from destroyed blocks, a chance they will spawn in the spaces when a natural gallery is opened up. The deeper the more likely and whatever, to keep the occurrence basically the same.

Actually I thought they should spawn outside your vision on tile that has path between you and it so after it spawn you're automaticly aggro'ed. So if you mine long tunnel there is chance slimes coming behind you and blocking your path to exit. Or even better if you "dig out" troll ¦] .


But troll working this way would be cancer, maybe tiles around troll spawn should be mined so you won't be blocked to exit.

Maybe not.

Also fuck slimes. Hide your stockpiles, if they touch it, they’re breaking it.

I don't like the way slimes work now so a change to it would certainly be welcome. Rather than having 5 or more slimes spawn on you at deeper levels why not create bigger versions of slimes instead? At least this way we can mine knowing we won't get spawned on by multiple mobs all hitting at the same time with higher risk of being stuck and we could instead either focus on fighting or fleeing from what would be a more powerful but less numerous version of the slime. Bigger slimes could also have more of a chance to break in to smaller slimes.

I still think a dripping slime effect when you're near a slime-spawning tile would make for a cool mechanic that has it's own pros and cons. Kindof like a fuzzy, uncertain version of the current minesweeper mechanic with caveins, only with slimes. If slimes are a concern for you, mine more cautiously. If you're after slimes, keep an eye out for it! Overall it seemed like it would add a lot.

Also still would love a spawning slime dungeon to really ruin a miner's day.

hmm, cool ideas. Possibly a chance that the cave-in dust particles will, instead of fading and stopping, transition into dripping slime, followed by a slime appearing and attacking. It would give you like a second or two warning to react before it appears and would have them actually coming in from somewhere which I like, especially dripping from the ceiling. And added incentive not to work around cave-in tiles

Dripping slime sounds cool, I could also just go for it oozing from the floor or edges of other tiles. Would much rather have a giant slime spawn rather than 8 small ones. Ive been boxed in by them even in a 3 wide tunnel a few times.
