Can content be tested before it's released?

Lobsters and bees come to mind.

There isn't much to say here. Things get released totally fucked up and it's clear that the content was not even attempted to be engaged with before it was.

I mean, the game is in a permanent alpha state in which everyone who wants to pays a monthly fee to test an eternally unfinished product.

Pretty much what Collin said. If you want the word on this directly from jorb or loftar, I imagine they'd answer you directly via PM. if you want to think of it in terms of Steam releases, this is the "pre Early Release" stage.

I can only wonder what those people over at Star Citizen think about paying thousands to play a game that hasn't been released yet and that can potentially face major mechanics and balance changes.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Make the development of the game even more slower? No thanks.
If you do not like it, go play some AAA+++ games where there are no bugs or glitches.

i mean, to be fair, a lot of content could very easily be tested at least for function before hitting live to be thoroughly tested and tried out.

look at fulgurite, look at lobsters. look at beehives (jorb said, "oh wait these are way broken" and promptly balanced.)

these are things that would've literally taken almost no dev time whatsoever to test to at least make sure they're functioning semi properly. as for exact rates and balancing sure thats what we're for, but hell, man, it gets tiring when you stumble upon something and have to say "Did they even look at this?"

Indeed game became too big and complicated project, and require some quality assurance.
