So what's the official dev stance on glitched items?

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

So what's the official dev stance on glitched items?

I think we need an official statement from the devs.

Can people use glitched tools and food without getting banned? At this point there's so many out there that it's inevitable even hermits will use them.

The following screenshot makes it seem like it's fine to use them as long as the buffs they give aren't outrageous.

As I understand it the items can be used for "testing"..

Hatchet with the taste of food is criminal when it contains a 5% bonus, 50, 300 or when more than 1000? And firewood? Do I have to report on a neighbor who eats every day? When to wait for the Apocalypse?

Has anyone seen more than double the base? That is what it seems to be capped at now. Has anyone figured out how to spiral up their own tools to convey such bonuses to everything? As of yet, nobody has posted anything definitive to the forums. One person has stated that they have figured out the solution, but no confirmation from jorb or loftar if that is the problem and a patch can be anticipated soon.

No, it's not a nice situation to be left in the dark like this. Until we get word the issue is known and a resolution is coming, try to figure out the problem, don't just abuse the already existing issues. (Maybe I haven't been clear on this in my previous posts.)

As I stated, have you seen more than 2x the base food values? There was a cap put in place with the patch this week that would prevent foods from going "too high." My assumption is that the passing of attributes from item to item is intended. This is an unforeseen consequence of that intention. yes, it needs fixing and will be fixed. There, as of yet, isn't a timeline. And why would you report anyone for eating every day? Do you have any details about such actions other than that their playing the game? As far as a reset... who knows. All I can do is speculate, same as anyone else here. You can wait around if you want, but I'll keep enjoying the game as this doesn't affect me a bit. If the top fighters come stomping around, there wasn't anything I could do, anyway, other than hide in my walls, even if they had "normal" items and food.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I do not know, but I hope they do not wipe and then after a coule of New months a New game breaking issue appears. Try to make the big "mistakes" in the current broken world?

If it's allowed to eat this bugged shit then honestly just fix this and wipe server directly after, w12 let's go.

Why even nuke for bug abuse if in following days you allow it.

Anything greater than 1x the food values is total bullshit if it is left unfixed. You're right, it doesn't really matter to players like you and me, but I can see this mattering a lot for competitive types. And it is hideously ugly to leave a bug like this in production with such a bandaid fix, I don't understand how one could stand it as a developer, from a personal pride point of view (but maybe this is my personality type showing).

I do understand that because this is a small game it is probably a side project for the devs, but I think a few minutes taken to post a little bit of a timeline or reassurance that this is being worked on would probably be really nice for the competitive player base, who probably are the ones providing a decent fraction of the store income. Based on previous experience (e.g. the ram bug in legacy) I think we have no idea how long it will take to fix (I know they were working on Salem at that time, but of course I don't know what they are doing right now :)) without some sort of communication from Jorb/Loftar.
