Stone Quality Randomization is bad.

It's not so bad if your working with under q100 minerals, the range is not so wide. If your highest stone is 250 however, you can find rock ranging from 100-250. Sometimes even getting random extremely lower quality stones. I've had a 200+ stone node give me q 60 rocks, for example.

The W10 change reads "slightly randomized" however in the higher qualities this is simply untrue, a range of 100+ in quality is not slight, and creates a tedious task of sorting minerals if you want to optimize it. Looking at each individual stone/ore/coal to make sure it's of use, is a genuine pain in the neck.

In my opinion the quality range of a single tile shouldn't vary more than 5-10 quality.

Yeah the mechanic seems to not be working as intended. There's a thread about it in bugs as well, here.

it's almost as if there is something flawed in the math or information tracking...

To be completely honest, I like how it kind of forces You to actually take a look at what You mine, but then from the other hand, sudden loss of quality ore is... bad.

Does sound like a bit much. Will look at it.
