Suggestion - Utility Shelf/Tool Rack/Tool Box?

Like a belt, but in the world instead of on your character. It automatically switches needed tools into your hand while its inventory is open. Place one next to an anvil with a smithy's hammer inside it, or next to your favorite fire pit with a frying pan inside. Manually moving the tool in and out of inventories each time you want to use it would no longer be necessary for players who want to make sure their single best tool for a given job is always available and ready for their fellow villagers.

Make silk, get a 16 slot belt, never have an issue again. Maybe... I might have an issue if I were a single character hermit. There are a lot of tools to manage, and it would be nice if the "toolbelt" functionality worked with the rest of inventory, too.
