It's such an "old" world crop. I wonder why it is not in the game yet?
At least in Finland, it was the first agricultural crop, and farming of it started in 5300 bc!

the game is loosely inspired on people from a region very close to this one, it is loosely inspired on northern and eastern europe, if loosely then we can also accept something from someone just slightly different from slavic and germanic people?
