Soil-borne diseases

You can get infection from seals in this game.
But not from soil?
Why!
Soil is full of all kinds of bacteria and fungus that may give you nasty, nasty infections.

You would get them when you dig, or plow soil by hand.
Especially if you dig while you have some wounds, chances of infection like this should be greatly increased.

This is stupid.
Soil don't have dangerous bacteria or viruses that can be dangerous for people.
Indeed it has many species of different bacteria, but everyone have immunity for it. And yeah, soil can be infected from some source of bacteria or viruses, but this is not the reason to make it a source of diseases.

Make some small open wounds to your hands and then go dig soil around places with your hands. I am sure that you will get somekind of serious illness.
Pretty much all soil is infected with these bacteria, they make shells and then hide in the soil for years.

Pretty sure this already exists in the game. It's called "infected wound." As a modern civilization, we know to keep wound sites clean. Stagnant water and "high concentrations of organic matter" (thanks for the link pppp) are primary sources of infection.
