An idea. what about needing a set amount of time as owner of the claim on it - 32 hours or most likely more - to set the palisade wall to "softened".
Softened walls are able to be bashed by hand. The effect lasts for a set amount of time.
flaws are claiming over someone's palisade. though building unclaimed palis is eh...?
Still think it's a noteworthy idea, not to demand but to inspire

Thinking ahead; maybe soften to allow more cascade damage on siege?
