Make marksmanship great again

Postby danzzig » Thu May 16, 2019 9:43 am

Heya guys.
Through the hunting with a fighter I found the idea to kill swan with a sword or a b12 in full plate is kinda dumb. ¦] Just imagine a Monthy Python sketch.
So my idea is to make a hunting as profession for archers with capping from dex and marksmanship. But system we got seems kinda dead. Feels like the system of shooting should be reworked. As fo hunting and same for fighting. I guess some auto aim with shoot-chance capped by skills can fix this prob. And capping quality of animals by arrows should be removed. Just the dmg should be capped. Like the hunter with 200 surv 150mm and 150 Dex should got no problem to shoot the max 200q deer with 100-150 arrow.
And at other side quality of killed by melee combat animal should be capped by the weapon. More professions ingame always a good idea.

Hopefully the small fix with auto aim for hunters would be a nice idea

While I don't neccesarily agree with the idea, I do agree with the notion that marksmanship should be buffed or at least get some kind of rework to make it more relevant. It's all a pain in the butt to craft high q arrows to make sure it doesn't fuck with the animal when your survival can just do that for you as you punch away a bear. A bit silly, right?

What about defensive? Maybe it'd give the Archery towers a more sense of purpose if you can man your archer on it than just be an automatic clash of clans sniper tower.

But it would give to the sieges some planning, and you should investigate a great strategy before you start to palibashin' some plot. Also archery towers can be capped by authority points of village and dryin' as a siege weapons.

This - there will never be a balance where archery is viable in pvp but not overpowered. It should definitely have a place in hunting however.

Archery would be cool if it required the user to not have any heavy armor on, could only shoot while standing still or on horse back, and had its own combat stance based off MM. To use a bow it would require a player to be using that combat stance. .25 weight of stat or something.
