ok but if you reduce the complexity of the image with some basic image editing tools you can reduce that significantly

I think just scaling it down to 128*128 might also work

(128*128 just a random size, could be lower or up to 256*256)

why not instead of having to go through image editing or whatever, just decrease linseed cost across the table?

You either edit the image properly and collect materials (believe me it doesn't requery a lot if you understand how the ingame image convert system works) or you can just buy a scetch book from game store. Sounds fair

I made the argument awhile ago when sketches were first implemented that no one should be forced to learn image editing software so they can simply make use of one of the few interesting features this game has to offer. Since that time I have become much better at it myself anyways but I still do feel it’s rather foolish to think anyone should be some pro image editor so they don’t have to spend countless hours gathering materials for a single sketch with the only alternative being to spend money.

Reducing the image complexity reduces the size of the image on disk. I remember a long time ago loftar complaining about the maps people could make taking up massive amounts of space. Maybe that is part of the logic behind the oil requirements.

Yeah no, 100l+ of linseed oil is a pittance.
jorb: I don't want *your* money. You are rude and boring. Go away.
Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.
