Softcap on cheeseracks = (rack+tray)/2

Thoughts on the further development of Haven & Hearth? Feel free to opine!

It is pretty obvious why people would make "a lot" of cheese. Some cheeses take over 12 days to make. That means if a person wants to eat a single piece of cheese per day, they need to make 13 cheese at a time.
A small village of 5 people means 65 cheese -> 11 racks for 1 cheese per day, right? WRONG!

You will want racks in all the different locations. So that's 44 racks.

Now remake those racks ever time your wood q goes up.

Making cheese racks instead have health based on q, and last for 5+ full loads of cheese at q10 would be a happy medium between what we have and the current system.

Sounds like some people are intentionally making their life harder than it should be.

The quality of the rack affecting the cheese doesn't make sense.

this is a good suggestion.

I'd rather go with the original suggestion (rack and track combined as a softcap instead of two separate checks) or something similar. If I don't want to screw with upgrading my racks because i'm only taking a 5-10 pt quality hit (which would be a 1% or less change if FEPs), then that should be my choice. I don't want to be forced into replacing racks every X cycles of cheese, or spending more resources to repair the racks.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Now, when I think how it could be actually implemented, the reasonable approach is to count usage after a tray of cheese changes stage. So it is entirely possible that a cheese rack would break up as soon as one of trays inside matures, tossing other trays to the ground. A slight improvement to that would be breaking the rack after pulling out the matured tray, still tossing remaining contents to the ground, but this time in the front of the player.
I think I already love this idea.

Most likely custom clients will prevent adding cheese trays to a rack if remaining uses are too low.

Considering removing it entirely.

Revisit the Cheese rack Quality please

Postby senx » Fri Oct 18, 2019 9:35 pm

Spent another 3 days of my gaming time working to replace cheese racks.

Other factors in making cheese
Farming ability
Cow\sheep\goat milk quality% and animal overall Quality
tree\Wood Quality
Saw Quality
Players ability to make quality saw.
Players carpentry ability
Quality of curd tubs
Quality of vinegar
Quality of maw
Quality of cheese trays
And feeding\hunger and everything else

So why on earth or haven is it really needed to do racks when trays and everything else keeps the cheese down. And yes I would have spent those 3 days outside my walls hunting for better Q bear and moose areas

Rant, rant, rant, bitch bitch, bitch.

I am done with this complaint(for now) and hope you add it to a easy fix while you work on fighting on test server.
