Make resources mobile!

Currently a big problem for new players and hermits are their inability to compete with top factions for resources like rock crystals and brimstone. Sure, some hermits and weaker villages have some of their own resources hidden away before someone bigger could snatch it up with a village claim and an alt fed by ez curios. However most resources that can be claimed and walled up have been already. A way to fix this is instead of having the resources stay permanently in place for the entire world is to have them spawn with a set amount of refills (let’s say a random number of 5-15). After a player finds this resource node they can empty it, it refills after the refill cooldown, and repeat for how many times it spawned with. After this amount hits 0 it will crumble away into dust and spawn randomly in the world. This would actually promote combat like meteors did earlier world. Maybe make it where for 24 hours after it spawns it can’t be harvested and everyone near gets alerted it appeared. Make haven great again!

What a revolutionary idea. Why, this sense of deja vu i'm feeling can't be because I've read 5 post just like this one. Nope can't be due to that. What a fresh idea!

Go search around some and you'll find this idea already has been tossed around quite a bit. It has its merits, but myeah up to the devs.

This one doesnt make them disappear instantly or quickly, they stay for 2 weeks or so or longer. The reason jorb likes how resources are right now I'm willing to bet is because they create some kind of competition. However, once someone builds a village and a wall around it theres no longer competition, no ones going to siege it. Making them spawn somewhere else after a certain amount of uses would fix this!

Yes to making localized resources meteor-like and things like that.

No to saying it's an ''actual problem'' right now, because anyone who cares about anything can shit out a village claim and maintain it incredibly easy.

Noone will siege it because it takes a lifetime. This is the case because the game sees it as an actual village, rather than a resource claim.

From here, you can make a new thread regarding ideas about staking a resource claim, and how others may challenge that.

Because I think that's one of the biggest points here, you are able to cover these things with villages, while this should not be the case.
This is already prevented with pclaim, but what this actually does is limit the amount of people who are willing to make the vclaim, and the ones who do have it easy as can be and will probably hold it until they become inactive and let the authority drain.
