Wool length stat for sheeps and goats

Postby Saergof » Sun May 26, 2019 2:41 pm

The new stat that determines the maximum amount of wool that animal can carry. Currently sheep can have no more than 3 wool. With such stat it can be, for example, 2 wool at 10 wool length, 4 at 40, 6 at 90 and so on - as per usual scaling formula.

Maybe he just didn't understand the mechanics for it.

Quantity governs how fast the wool grows.

so what are you saying exactly?

I think that the maximum amount of wool that can be stacked on one animal can become a variable property.

I thought the request was obvious. Make the "wool quantity" be variable like "milk quantity." I'm going to assume if this was changed the base would be smaller than 3.

honestly, I would prefer if both were increased with one statistic, this way people could avoid difficult choices like which one out of 5 good and similiar rams should be left alive... headaches from having to inspect 100 different animals are enough...

Well, I personally find exactly that aspect of animal breeding enjoyable, having to work with different sets of stats and developing a criteria which makes statistics work towards you. But I do not insist it's the only legit way to feel about the system.

Do they? I don't think they do. They make it so that the animal produces wool faster, but I have yet to see a sheep *store* more than 3 wool in any given shearing. I believe what he's suggesting is that sheep should be able to increase their storage, not just their production rate.

Also, I love the way it works presently. That whole thing about 'having to choose between different animals' is part of what makes animal husbandry fun and engaging.
jorb: I don't want *your* money. You are rude and boring. Go away.
Sevenless: We already know real life has some pretty shitty game mechanics, it's why we're here instead.
Avu: The end is near it has finally come to pass: I agree with Lunarius...
Shubla: There are also other reasons to play this game than to maximize your stat gain.

of course the same mechanic could be applied to amount of milk that a cow/sheep/goat can carry
