Up now, healing and wounds were modeled over worlds very different than this one, so now there are some problems in healing some kind of wounds and i think we need a bit of a wound system overhaul.
Chamomile and snow are present only in SOME of the continents, and if you spawned on the wrong island you may end up not having even yarrow or waybroad.
Many wounds may prove crippling to the newer players while they have little to no effect to older ones (wich also have healing methods AND equipment to overcome getting wounds), and this discourage sprucecaps to play the game, or transform the game into something like "i come back when i'm fully healed".
Some fixes i propose are:
- wounds should give stat/skill reduction based on % of total points instead of a fixed number
- make ALL lighter wounds easy to heal with various methods, like spray water on antcid burns, use of simple herbs for crab caressed, mud on flea bites and so on, so that with a bit of effort will be easier to heal those and not catch an infected sore because the wound takes days to heal
- make harder wounds heal better with specific treatments obtained via first aid, up to broken bones and so on, but make all the wounds have also an "easy to make" treatment that will help, even if very little, because the access to healing roots
- resting in a bed should NOT make a wound worse: while infected sore is interesting as a mechanic, if i have a wound that cannot be treated and i use the bed i should not have it transform nearly 100% of the time in an infection, especially since the infected sore now just need a treatment to progress and heal; instead, bed should help only the treated wounds to heal, and the non treated should not get any help; infected sore should be possible ONLY when online and wound is not treated.
- better treatments should require harder to make/obtain ingredients but may help better to heal AND may remove or alleviate the penalities associated with wounds, so a high-tiered player can use his equipment and better capabilities to reduce the penalities and not feel or beign impaired by them.
