I just chop them into blocks for splinters and drop blocks on ground.

Even then bonfire had limited capacity, so you couldn't use it to destroy logs en masse...

Let us put logs into bonfires and then add an 'empty' button to them so that we can drop the fuel like emptying a barrel :ugeek:

At least these days you can make it into a dugout then destroy the dugout fairly cheaply on stamina
