Remove the 2 minute timer from "cheap" local resources

None of the local resources around us are contested, nobody cares about them anymore and nobody contested them before, actually. All the people I've talked to are annoyed by this change and (to our benefit) some of them stopped collecting local resources 'cause they don't feel like wasting so much time. One of my routes through caves contains 5-6 local resources and the time wasted is noticable. On my sea routes I often hit more than that.

And I'm pretty sure it shouldn't reset the timer when you run out of inv space. Reproduction: run out of inventory space while collecting heartwood leaves, make more space, try to harvest leaves again, get another 2 minute timer.

You can still leave this on ice spires or salt basins(?) where the change might still matter... did it ever matter? Have you actually checked?

Please remove the timer, it's super annoying.

I like the timer even on uncontested resources because people no longer harvest resources for the hell of it and then throw the produce away. People harvest only when they actually want the thing. That means if I need a resource, I'm more likely to get it, and the world isn't a graveyard of exhausted resources.

Agree 2 mins is fine as it is.

Then throw it away?
Because you didn't obtain it, you assume they discard it?

The world isn't a graveyard of exhausted resources if you show up near their spawntime.
If you are within 12 hours to something that's actually uncontested most of the time it will just sit there.

If not, your area may be active and the resources actually is ''contested'' by noobs as yourself who just want to grab free stuff.

In your mind 2 minute timers equal more free stuff for you so that's why you want to waste everyone's time. That logic sucks.

It could also tick down from 2 minutes at the spawn time to the original short cooldown after certain amount of time if nobody harvests it.

I think the main reason is that only ~16 % of the original player base (at world reset) remains. So I believe you'd still see plenty of unharvested local resources even if they rolled back this change. From what I can tell people don't care about them unless they live close to them or they can grab them along their paths to quest givers and such.
