Let us save food recipes

Currently game has thousands of food variations that can be crafted. This makes very hard to store or remember good recipes.
Not_a_cat already created cookbook, but this is still a problem to fill this base - you need to meet Not_a_cat in game world and give him cooked food, if i remember correctly.

Let us draw recipes from already crafted food: You just need parchment, and by right clicking with food on it - it will create a recipe.
Recipe will contain name of food, ingredients, and stats, which gives this food at q10.

Some advantages of this thing:
1. People will be able to share good recipes of food with each other
2. It will be easier to understand variable food dependencies, spices influences, etc.
3. Resources like cookbook, or ringofbrodgar will be filled more conveniently.

I strongly disagree with this idea.

Players should all have a cookbook that automatically records the things they cook. Recipes should be created on parchmentfrom their book just like we can describe people we have memorized.
Having a cookbook should probably be automatic, like our mapping system, but I could also see it being craftable.

Making recipes from pre cooked food is a bandaid fix, and doesn't even make sense. Could anyone really write a recipe from just looking at a dish? The ever expanding list of items to cook is completely overwhelming right now, and this idea doesn't really solve it.

See where you're coming from, but it seems like a marginal feature that introduces a lot of complexity in the crafting recipes, and a lot of rigidity and formalization in the code, for a marginal benefit.

Not at this juncture.

I can imagine this implemented as a copy of a food item (with all stats), but totally uneatable, and unusable in any other way(further crafting, burning in oven, feeding cattle, etc.). With an icon of a parchment. I understand that this may inadvertently create some overlooked way to abuse an unblocked usage, but, well, is the fear of bugs a way to create games?

The whole cooking system introduced a lot of (unnecessary) complexity into the game. Some foods got a few amazing buffs in a couple of variants, other variants are total crap. The system is good in concept, but like anything else, it has fallen down to 1% of the options being utilized (probably less, actually) when there are means of creating what are effectively n approaching infinite variety and randomness.
