Destroying Logs

Postby Groniak » Sun Aug 11, 2019 5:18 am

Hi, it would be great if we had the ability to destroy tree logs. I got so many tree logs cluttering my land, and my only ways of getting rid of them so far are quite tedious:
1- Start taming an animal and have it flee trough a wall of logs (THEY can destroy logs somehow)
2- Chop it all into blocks\boards and let it rot on the ground

Wouldn't be so bad if i only had 2-3 logs to get rid of, but i got well over a hundred =P

What is your problem with turning them into splinters/shavings?

Couple of things: It's boring, I'm not using bots\scripts,will take hours and who really gives a damn about q10 shavings and splinters?

Nobody. That's why I load them into the wagon, move a few minutes to the (pick a direction) and dump them at ranodm. I can guarantee someone will come by and collect them later--either a hermit just looking for some extra for less chopping, or a new player in a month or so wanting to make a ton of mirkwoods.

It's also why I limit my low quality tree plantings and find things to dump all those blocks and boards into building.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Massive underestimations of scale from our moderation staff

Anyone who is above q100 in any tree type has more logs than they know what to do with and cutting them into blocks or moving them would take a whole afternoon of just doing that.

Jorbtar, please give us a way to burn or dispose of our logs already it's really tedious right now. At least in legacy you could stack them all on the same tile..

Spawn an alt in another window and click it from time to time, you should be done after a while.
Or make a small script that chops all visible logs. It's not rocket science and this game is already botted to kingdom come and back anyways, so one more dosn't change anything.

Also:

Havn't had any problems with a log flood while getting a dozend tree types to way over q100.
In case you have problems with too many logs: You're must be doing it wrong.

Granger you're a fool and on top of that you advice to write scripts to take care of game issue, sure it can help for the time being but it doesn't hurt to be able to put infinite logs in bonfire for example so every log added prolongs how long it burns.

Bonfires nerfed to shit anyway so it's just a way to dispose the logs.

As mod to suggest script writing as a solution is plain bad.

A rare moment where I face reality* and then that's wrong too?
Could you please be consistent with what you critictise me for?

*That's at least the usual complaint: that I don't.

I gotta say Granger, you seem to be trying really hard to make us believe botting\scripting\afk-alting is the better solution to the problem: I can't destroy logs
When in truth the solution is quite simple: I SHOULD be able to destroy logs
It's not rocket science

P.S. I also mentioned i wasn't using bots or scripts, and i don't intend to change that. The day i need the machine to play a game for me, is the day i stop playing said game.
