Drunken Debuff and Hungover Wound

Postby truckkun » Wed Aug 21, 2019 1:17 am

When you drink too much Beer, Cider, Mead, Perry, Weißbier or Wine you get a drunken debuff that penalizes agility and intelligence but improves strength and charisma. If you keep drinking you get KOed and pass out and when you wake up you get a hungover wound that prevents you from drinking any more booze until it heals.

You mean like this: http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Legacy:Wine?

RoB Wiki wrote:As a result of drinking alcohol the following status effects appears: "A Glass with a Friend" which increases your strength by 10, intelligence by 10, charisma by 15 and psyche by 5.

After drinking a lot more alcohol the effect becomes "A Glass to Keep the Cold Out". The second status effect increases your strength by 15 and your psyche by 7 but decreases Intelligence by 10, Perception by 5, and Skill Values by 10.

After drinking a whole lot more, the status becomes "A Glass Too Much" Which lowers all of the stats involved.

More drinking gets you "Drunk and Riotous" Lowering all attributes, and stats by 30.

Past that is "The Summit Attained" Which lowers all attributes, and stats by 40.

After you've reached this summit, and filled up the bar one more time, you get knocked out. (Loss of all SHP) It should be noted that the drunken debuffs do not lower Dexterity or Agility.

There is no reason of making new wound, game has too mutch of them, and they are unbalanced, when bear's punch damages you less than stinging nettle or midges.
Or when crabs careseeds heals longer than consequences of being knocked by large animal.

I do like old system of alcohol, when small doses of alcohol buffs you a bit, bigger doses makes you stronger but debuff other stats, and when you drink too mutch - you get very hight debuff, and able to get knock by losing all your SHP. Brilliant system, give it back :)

I agree. I liked it. However, we have an artifact system that is far superior. Do we really need it? (Note: if it doesn't count as the bonuses and is just a short buff, it'd be great early game.)

Downside: alcohol is pretty heavily used as a part of feasting now to reduce/remove satiations. it could be seen as yet another debuff to the FEP system.

In relation to the idea that it'd be a nerf to the FEP system, could we just make the effect of being drunk on the end of the satiation, say when you get to around %80 to %90 the effects begin. I feel by that point you shouldn't be drinking anyways, and could serve as a punishment for overusing it. Maybe don't make it too punishing though as I'm not about the idea of the concussion thing. I can't remember if the old system actually damaged you or just knocked you out, it's been a hot minute since I've touched legacy. (EDIT: I've also remembered that right now you can drink alcohol like a mad man to get your energy up, and though as a miner I absolutely love not having to eat and mess up my hunger just to be able to mine again, I'm wondering if this purpose was intended by the devs).
