Long term ice storage and Ice Mining

Postby Archiplex » Thu Sep 05, 2019 5:18 am

Well, if we have winter and frozen lakes, this means adventuring for snow or ice isn't so important, so how about this:

The ability to mine/chip ice lakes for solid ice, which could be used to make curios and even some other items (Ice cubes that function like spices, except for drinks?). Ice should melt like snow does.

A large storage building that can store ice and snow (with a limited inventory, of course) indefinitely during winter, spring and fall; but the ice slowly melts down over the duration of summer (or just indefinitely?)

Neat idea, Maybe the ice could get dug out in blocks that looked like this?

We should be able to shave snow off them too!

A way to store some cold stuff would be cool. Do we really even know what will happen to the blocks and how the snow will melt?

You know, that almost seems perfect. Maybe they should hire you?

Nah but, nice to see it exists; Wiki didn't have it and the seasons patch notes didn't mention it. (I'm just retarded; I didn't even see the patch this day.) At least my latter idea still exists. I assume they'll melt after winter, though.
