Beginners has no way to get food from trees/bushes at winter. Beginners has no way to get curious at winter. There is no way to get crops and no sense to get them for beginners at winter. Water is the least problem for beginners at winter. The biggest problem that we got winter which brought only restrictions and more boring gameplay.
Give a man a game engine and he delivers a game. Teach a man how to make a game engine and he never delivers anything.

food and wate are definatly a starter issue for someone that joins just a few days before or during winter, especially if we are talking about in a fresh world, right now not a huge issue since there are many, many abandoned bases to plunder.

So yes, a stone axe chopping a hole would be a good idea.

Its only 10 days, if someone is actually interested in playing then chances are they will wait a little while for spring. Chipping the ice is fine, but don't turn this into a drama over the plight of fresh blood starting in winter.

lol yeah just fuck new players and new player retention because they had the audacity to play during a repeated [time period].

String is the real issue. No taproots, no cattails, no hemp/flax, and no hide straps (since you need string to make a drying rack in the first place)

+1 to this idea

Yep, Seasons are a great addition, just a few tweaks to make it viable for first time players that happen to join in the wrong season needs to be addressed is all.
