Agreed. Although this being the first one has made it a little nutty for me. Been scrambling to keep my peeps fed and avoiding base chores.

I like it so far myself. If you can't do the quality grind, all the more reason to relax and explore.

My only real problem with winter is any noob that starts in winter (or worse, right before winter) is fucked. I've been exploring a lot and have seen like 1 taproot and 1 nettle. The lack of string will be deadly. Devs really need to make that stuff year round.

Winter is not forcing you to do something else in game in any way.
At the current state it's just forces you to quit for a little bit time, when you will be able to try other games and probably leave.

Let's say that it encourages you to do something different. Whether that is something different in the game or leaving the game and doing things elsewhere is a decision each person makes. There are things to do in game if you choose to do them.

I have to agree. I really like the winter thus far, and enjoy how austere the landscape is. Could certainly be improved upon, but I do enjoy, as you say, the change of pace.
