There's a couple of options that provide pretty good energy:hunger at 500:1 or better. Agree that there could be better options than rat on a stick and roasted grasshoppers... something that can slightly mass produced without the hassle of foraging so much if you have a large project to work on. (Also to note: not the first time this request has come up. So far, while I don't put it as shubla does, it hasn't been a negative reaction to the request, but it really hasn't been positive, either.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Fruit_Sorbet If you have decent access to snow, this is extremely easy as honey is produced in bulk and you can just go pick random edible berries and fruits from wild. 500:1

http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Strawberries_in_Cream does require gardening for strawberries and excess milk. 500:1

http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Marsh-Mallow quite remarkable at 750% energy 1% hunger but seems to be rare forageable

Source: http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/FEP_Table (made request in Discord to implement ability to directly sort by energy/hunger, I had to manually look around for best ones that aren't super rare like troll parts.

Would be nice to have something to eat for energy without touching hunger bar and feps at all. Preferably quite accesible. Like pemmican wich existed in reality by the way can be made from easy to access meat, some drying and mixing.

or just maybe rework half of food to instead of instantly gaining 500% Energy it will restore 5% every second for next 100 seconds and if player has full Energy bar it will cut remaining restoration time in half but keep rest of it in reserve until player starts losing Energy again
