Multiple charterstones per village

Why can't we have multiple charterstones per village? I live in a big village with lots of plots, but I joined late so my plot is the furthest from the charterstone. I want to build another one closer to me, and it doesn't make sense I can't

If your village doesn't already have Sublime Portico, maybe build one near your place? (assuming you mostly use charterstone to travel to other places and can hearth back to your plot)
