Quite elegant, i'd say. So if you wanna kill people you have to go without a ward and risk your own life.
However, "remove ward" should be an option, i.e. another rite that you can only perform at your shrine with or without a change to total cost in numen points.


Having a ward-less murder alt nearby is always an option.

that's the point) simple renaming would be a lesser evil than any other possible changes.

and the more complex new system would be, the more bugabuses it will produce. And after tons of new players would be killed (and potentially left the game) before getting to the point "okay, it was obviously a bad change", shouldn't someone say "you were warned"?

I think your idea of having to risk death to be able to kill is good. However, I still say go 1 step further, if you want to kill someone you have to spend points. You can have buff to kill someone, or the buff to save yourself from being killed or no buff at all. You just can't have both buffs at once. Also someone getting KO'd and then being killed off by some other means while they are KO'd still counts as a kill cause they never became conscious from when you attacked them until when they died.
