Fun & Smallish Ideas to Squeeze In For W12 Launch

Smudge Stick - Made from barks, grasses, string, variable herbs

functionally identical to a torch, holdable, lightable, but cannot light other objects, it simply smoulders with smoke until it burns out

holding a smoking smudge stick reduces chance of bee stings or bee agros while harvest from domestic and wild hives
smudge sticks with various herbs inside can give silly or semi-useful small buffs?

Wild Animal Variants - Age, Status, Gender

baby bears, alpha wolfs, more animals occasionally spawning in packs, etc.

Cave Crops

fun season-proof crops that can be cultivated in specific cave biomes?

Tide Pools

circles of rocky seawater that spawn in skargard and can be foraged for various sea critters and occasional fish

Not particularly fun. Feels irrelevant to me.

Not a small idea to implement for obvious reasons.

Not a small idea given the need to add the sufficient need for them to exists - crafts, foods and whatnot.

Maybe.

People are making alts just for the sake of harvesting honey and letting them die every few weeks, so I have no idea why you think a little preventative craft/mechanic would be irrelevant.

Jorb can probably pretty easily scale and recolour various existing animal, and he can pump out birds on a weekly basis. Not sure why you would think this is not a small idea.

I'm sure something small could be implemented immediately and built on in further updates, even 1 crop with a few foods would allow for further expansion

Yes, I will like to see more status diversity in animal viewings right now. Perhaps some animal will spawn with top hat and monocle so I can see he is rich animal. Other animal can spawn in rags.

And will continue to do so, since it is simpler.

Because there is less than 2 weeks till reset and I would rather have almost anything else implemented in the new world other than two birds/reskinned animals.

Zentetsuken wrote:I'm sure something small could be implemented immediately and built on in further updates, even 1 crop with a few foods would allow for further expansion

Sure, but usually this further expansion takes place like half year later. And meanwhile everyone question why it exists in the first place. We have enough examples of this bad design approach already, one more is not what I would welcome.

You are welcome for having the reply fitting for the level of thought you had put into your ideas.

The cave crops idea has been around for a long time. :)

Some I mentioned int he past:

lichens, moss, mushrooms, seaweed/kelp growing in cave pools, root crops, and certain lettuce type crops can be made albino and grow in caves.

Add in animal/insect/ reptile/ bat... options you have a way to live as a true cave hermit. :D

I really like the tide pool idea. Low-tide foraging is a fun irl passtime where I live

Also wooden armor please

Tide pool is a cool idea!

But are there tides in Hearthlands?
