you'd need to have a queen in there and put food and dirt/sand in there every once in a while, and it'd produce larva over time that eventually turn into pupa, then ant soldiers and (rarely) queens.
basically like a chicken coop, for ants, that you can put in your inventory or cupboards

Plus ability to combine 2 ant farms with glass to fold them together and create ant arena where ants will fight. Nice minigame.

The issue is mostly that things like ants are balanced to be natural quality only.

Right now though I feel ant hills are underpowered for the effort required to raid them.
