Trap-fruit trees

Postby Axatros » Tue Mar 24, 2020 4:22 pm

Let's say I posted it before viewtopic.php?f=5&t=39484 <--- really worth checking out, amazing art.

Yet, let's assume the way it was posted before was a little... mentally challenging.

All right, so the idea is that there were trees with fruits that would acually be insect nests/hives and that after you try to pick them, the insects would feel endengered and attack you.
The proper fruit you want to eat would be under the insects, as they were laying around it. After you defeat those bugs you can easly pick up the fruit. It would be a danger-reward mechanism like ant-hills, you raid them and if you win with the ants you get the insides of the ant-hill.
A simple idea that would make the game even more dangerous, the fruits should be nutritious and regain much more foodbar or could even be a small curio, for starting players.

Chopping down the tree would also antagonise those "hornets" or however you call them.

Guys, whaddaya think? Give me your feedback it's a bad idea.

By jorb terms, those "hornets" would be as strong as ants so any starting player with no idea would fuck off very quickly thanks to this idea, no.

What? Everyone of us got wrecked by those overpowered ants at least once (especially as we started playin the game). This is a natural HnH experience, isn't that what all players are used to?
New players will get used to it as well, because that's what HnH is, a hard game, they will fall for it 1 or 2 times and that's it, later on they will be grateful as those fruits would obtain them curio and would be a great food.

No thank you. Nabs have enough problems without worrying about one of their intended food sources trying to murder them.

Yay a random fight triggered by mundane action in a game where fighting is a notorious pain in the ass.

I never did. But since first encounter I'm calling them miniature hydralisks.
All I say is that we don't need more unique ants. We have bees and overpowered midgets already which cover the ground good enough.

Also haven doesn't THAT MUCH new players, so let be a little more gentle to them, no?
