Angry Gods - Giving Quest Givers Self Defense Measures

Postby Cajoes » Wed Mar 25, 2020 5:42 am

In the olden days, lumberjacks and loggers always announced their presence to allow any spirits living in the tree time to vacate the premises, lest they inadvertedly incur their wrath.

Currently, popular quest giving rocks and trees are actively hunted down and chopped into firewood or gravel with no consequence by dicks.

How about if you attempt to put a axe into a Quest Giving tree it spawns a dryad (or nidbane) that beats the shit out of you.

(Understanding that sometimes you don't want a angerous forest/stone spirit in a area, - maybe you can appease or encourage it to move by offering it mirkwood offerings or other spirit excising ritual. No you do not get to choose the new adress, that'd just be silly.)

It doesn't have to be a direct attack it could be a curse of sorts. ie. For X amount of time you only get a certain amount of harvest from plants and trees.

That has been suggested many-many times... "Cursing" doesn't work, since as long as you use an alt - you're good.
Quest givers respawn over time. Probably just move in a more friendly area.

I considered this initially, maybe even a creeping curse that affects stats or a type of wound. But then I remembered the average hearthling is a dum-dum that can not connect cause and effect unless it is slapping them across a river.

Agreed, that's why I suggested just interrupting the alt by smashing his face in. Like how bees, birds and ants defend themselves when they're threatened.

The best defense is to stop putting runestones under them.
