Hearth Magic to Retrieve a Gilding

Postby jordancoles » Mon Mar 30, 2020 3:14 am

As the title says: Add a new hearth magic that allows us to to withdraw all or a specific gilding from a piece of gear

Recycling is an option, but it's super random

Also would make rock/leafs retrievable which is also incredibly strong.

But they ARE retrievable though, the hearth magic would just be a high cost to remove the rng

I'm all for it tbh, the rng on recycling sucks, all rng in this game sucks ... :)

The cost, via hearth magic, of removing specific gildings seems fair enough to me, you can use it to add gildings, should be able to use it to successfully remove gildings.

Isn't part of what drives crafting long run the destruction of old equipment by making it out-dated? Retrieving via RNG still destroys things, this would allow anyone with XP access to keep their quality free powerful gildings infinitely no? And realistically don't realm owners have a vastly greater access to XP than anyone else?

Lots of questions. More than answers from me.

The thing is though, there is the chance that he will retrieve it by recycling anyway, adding a cost ... it could be high ... to ensure that process doesn't seem anymore op to me than many of the other hearth magic uses we can pay for.

Jordan only makes threads about changes that benefit him.
It was similar in w10 when he made some thread about pearls.
