Gardening Trays

A simple improvement to mid to large scale gardening.

It would work similar to the current garden pot: requires soil and water, allows you to plant the same stuff you can garden now. It would be a liftable object (maybe the size of a long bench), and it would allow you to plant 3 of the same plant in it (e.g. 3 dandelions).

It would save you some space and most importantly allow you to garden in a more efficient way by cutting down the amount of pots you have to refill daily. It might also allow you to use slightly less materials, so instead of 4 soil per plant, you only need 2 or 3.

Last but not least, it would also make for some nice decorative item :)

I'd say gardening beds
Could be a pretty good mechanic to rework farming, so you can plant directly to the ground and get random result, or use garden bed, where you put soil, water, controlling fertilizers level, to get better result and quality.

Gardening beds for gardening would work, but would require you to plant a lot more than 3 plants then.

As for it being a farming option, I love the idea but it requires its own thread to be discussed.

Gets my vote +1

Anything both practical and decorative we can have to improve garden layouts are a lovely idea. :)

The problem with this would be that it would be super weird to make something like this out of clay, which is the current way to prevent us from spiraling the quality up too fast.

However I think it would be pretty cool as a purely decorative thing too.

I am imagining something made out of boards that you can extend the length of like a fence when you place it. You still put in soil and water, but maybe the board quality is halved towards the receptacle part of the equation or something. Or maybe they are not meant to increase the quality at all? Either way it would be a pretty fun decoration thing.

I don't know much about game developing, but the whole being able to extend and fill with soil and water sounds like a headache to me.

You've got a point on the quality thing, but I don't see why these couldn't be just long pots, so only clay needed. Or make boards not matter for quality maybe? But that would be counter-intuitive I guess...

Could just have the bottom or a trim on the garden bed be bricks. Plenty of ways to justify having clay in the recipe.
