big drying frame

frame that is made with planks instead of tree bough.

quality affect speed of drying

1x2 structure in case u care about size it could be just tall , if not it could be anything small enough to use as less ram as possible.

has 6x6 space to put skins and hides on it.

Better in every way than the current one.
Power creep idea.

yeah but if it required something more complex than planks like leather or glue would it still be powercreep or would it just be progression?

I think the current drying frame is just fine.
Any taller drying frame would be difficult to use.

I get the "too easy to make it higher q", but does it really matter?
I mean, drying frames are so cheap (and don't affect hide quality) that it's just easier to spam them and have 200 hides drying at once, rather than focus on their quality and have fewer faster ones.

Also they could change the speed increase to counterbalance how much easier it is to make them higher quality using boards.

I'm all for going for convenience and quality of life boost. Thats why drying frames got the quality change in the first place.
I would rather see current frames be even more user friendly rather than just adding strictly better structure that makes people never use the old one.

That's why you don't suggest specifics such as materials required. There's nothing wrong with the idea imo, the dev's are smart enough to do something not to have it so it simply replaces the current drying frame in early game which would make it a nice progression item, like Vigilance suggested.

My only complaint about the idea is the size. At 6x6, that would be 36 hides. too many. 6 (2x3) or 9 (3x3) should be enough with the increased cost to add something nice.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
