Change to make Bark Cordage viable

Postby drakesaint » Mon Apr 27, 2020 9:03 pm

2 Tough Bark for one string of bark isn't going to make anyone go for this method anytime. My suggestion is: make Bark Cordage only craftable in a Boiling Cauldron, and increase the yield to 3 cordage per 2 bark.

The point of this was to add a string during winter? This string will never be relevant compared to flax or hemp string. The only thing it has is that you can get it during winter. It’s for noobs.

I thought the point of this was to give another source of strings to those living far from water (which gives cattails), but you might have a point with winter.

I'd like to see an improvement non the less. At least a 1:1 ratio would be nice.

I use bark cordage as an easy way to make stone arrows on the go. Just walking thru the woods you can just pick what you need, as long as you have a few waterskins handy. OP's suggestion would actually make cordage less useful to me personally.

Anything to do with a boiling cauldron is no-go for me
