Wellfedness

Postby drakesaint » Fri May 29, 2020 3:50 pm

Is it possible to ask for very, very small change to make this not permanent? A simple change to make it reversible after a very, very long time, like two years for 1/4 of the bar, balanced by the fodder Q, is all I ask. It pains me to see the first horse I tamed get wellfedness hits after i forget to tie it next to a through...

I'm under impression that the wellfedness (pink/brownish bar on animal stat screen) already slowly recovers if animal is kept fed.

If that is the case, then this topic is useless and I apologize. Information from the wiki tells it is permanent.

I haven't handled livestock in a few worlds, but from what I've noticed on horses, it's easier to just replace them with another, better quality animal than to wait for it to recover. It could actually be made permanent for what it matters to most players. (yes, it is a slow recovery if I remember a post from jorb correctly. I'm going to try to find it before updating the wiki. only posts I'm finding off hand are two--one in a bug report from w8, another from 2009.)

If a person were to be the type to not have a breeding program (say they traded for their horse or cow), then the slow recovery is a good thing.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Indeed, functionally, this is the case. But my favor with this old horse is restricted to the fact it was my first, hence my suggestion; so players can see their more favoured animals regain, slowly, their wellfedness.
