Idea for early game cooking with a stone grill

Postby Thatguyintheback100 » Sun Nov 01, 2020 3:11 am

I had this idea in another topic but the basic idea is a really early game option to cooking frying pan recipes that has very intense draw backs compared to the actual fry pan.

what i was thinking was the grill will hard cap at stone q, not raise q of food at all (to stop you using high q stone), and have a chance to break if it's left on a fire for too long, or a chance to break on use

Let me know what you think!

I am not sure I see the need. No stone bonus to cap, no ability to raise food quality, and a chance of stone breakage. Why not just use pit baked foods and other items cookable in the fireplace? If you have the items for the frying pan foods you probably have metal. Just wait to get the pan. It is not that bad.

Yeah, frying steaks on stone plate should be an early game thing, to allow steaks on world start.
Also, make it debuffed or already spiced with negative effect (like forbidding +2 FEPS), to allow pans stay actual.

Yea everything about the idea is to stop the thing with stone axes vs metal tools from happening. I just want crafters/cooks to have more to toy with.

The idea that if you have crops you also have metal also isnt really solid. there was easily a week gap between crops and metal for my last play through and when i was a hermit in world 11 there was an extremely long amount of gap
