what if you just copy paste all the code for meteor but change it to something else?

still have the meteor event but also like "a new treasure ship wreck has surfaced" or "a stash of gems has been discovered in the wild" etc, so people can fight over more shit

events are good as long as they don't contain shit that gates content in the game
having extremely rare aesthetic stuff would be very cool though

ghost ship floating in deep ocean sighted
ghost ship washed up to ocean shore sighted
earthquake that raises the ground and creates cliff faces with fossils or some shit popped out of the earth
rare ultra hard mobs spawning like Jotunn or Stalagoomzilla
ultra rare mega mushrooms growing
Ents performing some ritual shit

Would be super fun if "raiding" one of these events would have some guaranteed drops that are not game breaking but are fun and rare
alongside some very rare drops, like 5% chance to obtain some raw material for crafting aesthetic hats, clothing, weapons that would be so scarce that the materials would be HIGHLY tradeable
the catch would be that each events has its own raw material and that you need to be lucky to even get it, so you would have motivation to attend every event
and the reward would be that the fully crafted aesthetic gear could be put in the HF inventory
