Regional Climates

Winter is too harsh and ruins the flow of the game for many.
Northern parts of the world should have harsher winters and southern parts should have no winters.
This way many players would stick longer with the game.
Those seeking more isolation would venture into the harsher climate.

Oh yes! I thought that would be nice if Northern areas has a permanent winter, some southern areas could be completely without winter.

I have always agreed. Fuck winter.
I was thinking of playing a bit today then saw winter.

Sending the peasants to gulag hellscapes in the north would be hilarious, and not having to deal with seasons again is a bonus. Signed.

How about all seasons hitting all regions, but not at the same time? While in one location it could be winter, at that same time in another location it would be summer. If you want to do summer things during winter, you can still do it by traveling a bit even if it's winter around your base.

People who enjoy current seasons cycle can still stay in the appropriate zone.
My idea would open up more ways to play the game.

Sounds neat, but this would mandate that to raise crop qualities competitively, you'd need two (or depending on implementation, even more) bases to keep crop cycles going all in-game year around.

(Note that the recent WWW change alleviates this at least somewhat, at least if the range is global.)

I would like the idea of seasons moving around the map but I would be against the idea of completely getting rid of certain seasons in certain areas.
