We killed 3 alts trying to find one crab roe and failed.

I hate crabs doing so much damage, since it makes anything they provide completely off the table game wise. But really roe drop needs to be buffed, if it was 1-2 crabs per roe no one would be making this kind of stink.

That would just be hiding the symptoms of the core issue, namely that crab damage is unfun and strongly encourages tedious cheesing in its current form. How many players actually pick up crabs with their main (besides the initial one for the discoveries)?

I'm at 2 dead alts myself, and yet no crab roe...

I totally agree. I think nobody picks it on their main, other than maybe once in a while... I never do, and I'm one of those who hates using alts; I don't even use alts for beekeeping or terraforming, and yet I do for crabs because they're so punishing and have a such a wide range of possible damage.

Ah yes, my bad. I've really been looking for a new CHA food.

I agree that there should be some degree of advancement that nullifies it. Gloves of some kind that provide 100% protection.

I maintain my line from this thread, too, really. An investment of resources that temporarily protects you from 'Animal Handling' damage would be cool.

i use to commercial crab, and we used "crab tongs" for blue crab, since they are rather fast, and pinchy. it was easier to handle then using rubber gloves. Think it would be a neat simple innovation for a tool, to scoop them into a bucket, or basket or whatever.

just let me make some thick cloth/wool gloves that apply a penalty to whatever (or hell, has to be held in hand) and lets me avoid quill/crab/etc damage
the proliferation of automation is the rot of this game, with the next worst thing being the filth that plays it (you, probably.)
