Standardise times

Postby Pills » Thu May 06, 2021 6:26 pm

Curiosity study times are in game-time. Expanding a banner is game time. Inspecting any natural resource is in real time. Inspecting a seige engine for "seige hours" is in real-time.

Swapping back & forth is too confusing, especially for newer players. It just leaves them constantly confused. Please standardise your "times" in game, preferably to real world time to just make everybodies lives easier.

I know the confusion between game-time and real-time sucks quite a bit, and that the fact that some things are given in game-time and others in real-time sucks even worse, but I'm having trouble formulating a regime that in indisputably better.

Easy. Have everything show in-game times, with an option in the general settings to switch everything to IRL.
That way it's consistent, and you can pick which one you prefer.
(Although I'm not sure why anyone would keep in-game time, since you'd always convert it to IRL in your mind to understand how long that is)

If you don't want to break fourth wall to explicitly, how about you refer to in-game days as "Hearth-days?"
