Why can't I see how much health my opponents have (players and animals), why there is no way of displaying someone stats and gear?
I think it is very important to be able to gauge your chances against someone.

Being able to bluff and hide your strength is a core sandbox element that has been at play since legacy imo

Store hats sort of get in the way of this since you can hide things like dhelms etc, but it's a major reason why we don't already have cosmetic robes/armor etc iirc

Aren't you able to hide your strenght just by hiding your skills? Lacking such awareness in game shows incompleteness of game. When getting ganked solo you always have to assume your enemies are titans, because if they are and you try to fight back you're screwed.

Well you can make a client which both fetches list of all equipment in fraction of a second, and calculates meaningful estimates of the enemy stat after you first hit them.
If you are too lazy to do this yourself, its your loss, the game has always favored those who know how to abuse the system.

Yeah I agree that maybe this info should just be outright public in the default client instead of having to figure out formulas and making your own secret client to extract them.

You can determine a player's gear by looking at them in the 3d rendering of the game.

I'm pretty sure it's deliberate that one doesn't know the stats of an enemy player, though you can likely assume who is strong by what they're wearing.

I feel this is a nonissue.

I'm more afraid of the guys in spruce caps than I am of the guys in obvious armor. At least you know the guy in armor is ready for a fight. What's that spruce cap going to do? He might wave and say hello, he might aggro you and whip out a B12... and who knows how many gildings they might have in that gear? A guy in armor doesn't have as many gilding slots.

A sprucecap without armor at least goes down in a hand full of combat moves as opposed to a long drawn out agony-fest against a normal dude with goofy AC. :lol:

This should change. Mortals should be given more and more power until wizards get reduntant.

The spruce caps are the ones with a snekkja full of fighters off screen
